Product information
Drug form: Cherry flavored pills Dose: 1.2 mg Package: 18 pills Composition: 1 pill contains: cetylpyridinium chloride 1.2 mg. The other ingredients are: liquid maltitol (dry matter), maltitol, mannitol, levomenthol, lemon oil, wild cherry flavor, natural red color (cochineal E120), glycerol, colloidal anhydrous silica, magnesium stearate, titanium dioxide (E171), povidone, Capol 600. Action: Septolete Cherry has a local disinfecting effect. It contains a disinfectant – cetylpyridinium chloride, which has a bactericidal effect, it also works on some viruses and fungi. Lozenges disinfect the mouth and throat and thus soothe inflammation of the mouth and throat. Thanks to its good solubility, cetylpyridinium chloride also penetrates well into hard-to-reach places of the oral and pharyngeal mucosa and inhibits the growth of bacteria there. Septolete Cherry pastilles have a cherry flavor. They do not contain sugar. Indications: Slight infections of the mouth and throat (pharyngitis, laryngitis, the initial period of tonsillitis). Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to cetylpyridinium chloride or any of the other drugs. Warnings: Do not use in the case of wounds and erosions in the mouth. In case of severe infections with high fever, headache and vomiting, the patient should seek medical advice. Pregnant and lactating women can use Septolete Cherry only after consulting a doctor. Diabetic patients should consider that each lozenge contains approximately 1 g of maltitol.
Due to slow hydrolysis and slow absorption from the gastrointestinal tract, maltitol has only a negligible effect on blood glucose levels. Lozenges contain polyhydric alcohols (mannitol, maltitol) which in high doses may cause diarrhoea. Glycerol in high doses can cause headaches and gastrointestinal disturbances. The use of the drug in children under 4 years of age is not recommended. It is not recommended to take doses higher than recommended. Dosage: The recommended dose for adults and children over 12 years of age is up to 8 lozenges per day. Suck a lozenge every 2 to 3 hours. In children over 4 years of age, up to 4 lozenges a day are recommended, in children aged 10-12 up to 6 lozenges a day. Lozenges should be sucked every 3 to 4 hours.
