dosage
Always use this medicine exactly as directed in the package leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. If you are not sure, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
The initial dose should be individually adjusted according to the patient’s nicotine dependence.
Usually 8-12 gums are used daily with an adequate nicotine level.
Smokers with low dependence (smoking ? 20 cigarettes per day) – dose 2 mg.
Heavily dependent smokers – 4 mg.
Do not use more than 15 gums per day.
Use chewing gum for at least three months, gradually reducing the number of gums.
Chewing Technique
Chew Nicorette gum whenever you need to smoke a cigarette. The gum is chewed to release the nicotine and then the chewing is stopped to allow the nicotine to be absorbed by the lining of the mouth. Nicotine swallowed with saliva has no beneficial effect and in excess can irritate the throat or stomach, causing hiccups, for example.
Chew the gum slowly until you taste it.
Then stop chewing and stop chewing the gum between the gum and the cheek.
Once the taste goes away, start chewing again.
This procedure should be repeated for 30 minutes.
action
When chewed , Nicorette Gum releases a controlled amount of nicotine into the body, which helps overcome the urge to smoke and the symptoms associated with smoking cessation. Proper use of Nicorette gum makes it easier for smokers to quit or cut down on smoking.
Indication
Nicorette FreshFruit Gum is used to:
Treatment of tobacco dependence by reducing cravings and withdrawal symptoms after smoking cessation.
If a person is not determined to quit smoking completely, Nicorette FreshFruit Gum can also be helpful for:
Reduce smoking (reduce the number of cigarettes smoked),

Support for another form of nicotine replacement therapy (Nicorette Invisipatch).

In men, smoking leads to reduced sperm production, increased oxidative stress and DNA damage. Smokers’ sperm show a reduced ability to fertilize. It is not known to what extent nicotine itself contributes to these effects in humans.
