Indications
Dietary food for special medical purposes for infants. Acidolit sachets are used in conditions of water and electrolyte imbalance, in situations where there is a risk of dehydration, in order to rehydrate and replenish minerals in the body, both during diarrhea and diarrhea combined with vomiting. Acidolit can be used in infants, children and adults.
Action
The powder contained in the sachet, when dissolved in water, creates an oral rehydration fluid with reduced osmolarity and reduced sodium content, in line with the latest recommendations of ESPGHAN (European Society of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition).
Dosage
Add the contents of 1 sachet to 200 ml of boiled, cool water and mix. Infants and small children can be given the liquid in a bottle with a teat. The solution should not be sweetened. If vomiting occurs, administer the cooled liquid in small portions at short intervals (e.g. every 5 minutes).
Hydration: (first 3-4 hours of hydration): – recommended dose of hydration fluid: approx. 50-100ml for each kilogram of body weight administered within 3-4 hours.
Maintenance hydration: (continued hydration after the first 3-4 hours): – recommended dose of hydration fluid: after each diarrheal stool or vomiting, 5-10 ml for each kilogram of body weight.
If vomiting or diarrheal stools occur during the first 3-4 hours, additional fluid should be administered: – after each diarrheal stool or vomiting, 5-10 ml for each kilogram of body weight.”
