“Acodin contains dextromethorphan. The drug suppresses the cough reflex by direct action on the central nervous system. Indications
Acodin is used to temporarily suppress nonproductive cough (so-called dry cough not associated with secretions from the respiratory tract) of various origins. For example:
cough due to cold
pleural cough (eg, chest injury)
cough caused by inhaled irritants.”
