Avenalax glycerol suppositories 2g is a medicinal product used in constipation as a mild laxative.
Composition
Avenalax contains 85% glycerol, stearic acid and sodium carbonate.
Dosage
Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist.
Adults and children over 6 years of age: 1 to 2 suppositories at night.
The laxative effect occurs 15-60 minutes after use.
Contraindications
If you are allergic to any of the ingredients of this medicine.
In rectal cancer.
In case of acute renal failure.
Appendicitis and other inflammatory conditions in the abdominal cavity.
Side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Rare side effects: irritation of the rectal mucosa caused by hypersensitivity to the drug’s ingredients.
