Betadine scrub 4% foaming solution is an antiseptic based on povidone iodine. It is often known as Betadine red. It is an over-the-counter medication, i.e. it does not require a prescription.
It will be used for local adjuvant treatment and cleaning of skin and mucous membrane conditions that are infected or at risk of becoming infected, or in the case of a childhood hand-foot-mouth disease .
It allows the antiseptic washing of the hands of the nursing staff and the surgeon’s hands as well as pre-operative antiseptic washing.
