Clotrimazole 1.0g, Excipients up to 100.0g.
Dosage
Outwardly. Before applying the preparation, the affected area should be carefully washed and dried. Unless otherwise recommended, Clotrimazolum 1% cream is used twice a day (morning and evening), applying a thin layer of the preparation to the affected skin and adjacent area. The minimum period of use of the preparation is 4 weeks, even if the symptoms of the disease disappear. Failure to follow this recommendation may result in recurrence of the infection. Lack of effects after this period or exacerbation of the disease is an indication to notify a doctor for diagnosis. Therapy of fungal infections of the mucous membranes of the external genital organs should last 1-2 weeks.
Action
Clotrimazolum is a drug intended for local use. Trichophyton sp., Epidermophyton floccosum, Microsporum canis; yeast: Candida albicans; Melassezia furfur. The mechanism of action of clotrimazole is to inhibit the synthesis of ergosterol – an essential component of the fungal cell membrane. Its deficiency leads to impaired membrane function, increased permeability and, consequently, cell death. Absorption of the drug into the systemic circulation after local administration is minimal <0.1%.
Indications
Clotrimazolum 1% cream is a drug used in the treatment of skin mycosis caused by dermatophytes, yeast infections of the skin and mucous membranes of the external genital organs, and pityriasis versicolor.
