Indications
Eloprin is used:
adjuvant in people with reduced immunity, in case of recurrent upper respiratory tract infections,
for the treatment of cold sores on the lips and face caused by the herpes simplex virus.
Only patients with a history of herpes simplex infection can use the drug.
1 tablet contains:
active substance: inosine pranobex 500 mg inosine pranobexum (Inosinum pranobexum): a complex containing inosine and salts of 4-acetamidobenzoic acid with N,N-2-dimethylamino-2-propanol in a molar ratio of 1:3),
excipients: mannitol, potato starch, povidone K-25, magnesium stearate.

How do Eloprin tablets work?
The drug contains an active substance (inosine pranobex), which has an antiviral effect and stimulates the activity of the immune system.
Dosage
Always take the medicine exactly as described in the package leaflet or as directed by your doctor.
The dose is determined depending on the patient’s body weight and the severity of the disease.
The daily dose should be divided into equal single doses administered several times a day.
Adults, including elderly people over 65 years of age: The recommended dose is 50 mg/kg body weight per day. The usual daily dose is 6 tablets (3 g) per day (i.e. 2 tablets 3 times a day). The maximum daily dose for this group is 8 tablets (4 g) per day (i.e. 2 tablets 4 times a day).
Children over 1 year of age: the recommended dose is 50 mg/kg body weight per day, administered in several equal divided doses. For children who cannot swallow tablets, it is recommended to prescribe inosine pranobex in the form of syrup 250 mg/5 ml or 500 mg/5 ml.
The duration of treatment is usually from 5 to 14 days. After the symptoms disappear, the drug should be continued for 1-2 days.
If there is no improvement after 5-14 days or the patient feels worse, consult a doctor.
Eloprin tablets should be taken orally with sufficient liquid. If you have difficulty swallowing the entire tablet, you can crush it and dissolve it in a small amount of liquid.
If treatment is stopped, the expected therapeutic effect may not be achieved or the symptoms of the disease may worsen.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients. Signs of an allergic reaction may include itching, rash, swelling (of the face, lips, throat, or tongue), or difficulty breathing.
Eloprin should not be used in patients who are currently experiencing a gout attack or have elevated uric acid levels in the blood.
Eloprin tablets should not be used in children of the first year of life.
