Active ingredients of the drug: chlorhexidine dihydrochloride and lidocaine hydrochloride.
One lozenge contains 5 mg of chlorhexidine dihydrochloride and 1 mg of lidocaine hydrochloride.
Excipients: sorbitol, magnesium stearate, anhydrous citric acid, levomenthol.
Dosage
Gardimax medica is used for short-term symptomatic treatment — for 3-4 days. During treatment, keep a break between dissolving subsequent tablets.
Recommended dosage:
Adults: Slowly dissolve 6 to 10 tablets per day;
Children over 6 years of age: half the adult dose, i.e. from 3 to 5 lozenges per day.
Gardimax medica does not contain sugar and can be used by diabetics.
Action
Thanks to the content of chlorhexidine, Gardimax medica has an antibacterial effect, and the addition of lidocaine also determines the local anesthetic properties of the drug.
Indications
The medicine is used to treat irritation or inflammation of the throat and mouth.
Contraindications
The medicine should not be used:
in children under 6 years of age;
if you are allergic to the active substances of the drug or any of its components;
Due to the presence of menthol, caution should be exercised when used in children.
Warnings and Precautions
This medicine contains sorbitol. If your doctor has told you that you have an intolerance to certain sugars, consult your doctor before taking this medicine.
If too large a dose is taken (more than 20 lozenges per day), excessive loss of sensation around the glottis may occur, causing decreased control of the swallowing reflex and, as a result, an increased risk of aspiration.
