Maxon Forte 50 mg contains sildenafil – an active substance that belongs to the group of phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitors.
Maxon Forte helps to achieve an erection only after sexual stimulation.
Indications
Maxon Forte 50 mg is used in adults:
in the treatment of erectile dysfunction in adult men, i.e. impotence.
Composition
1 tablet contains:
active substance: 50 mg sildenafil (in the form of sildenafil citrate),
the other ingredients:
tablet core: microcrystalline cellulose, hydroxypropyl cellulose, croscarmellose sodium, magnesium stearate, colloidal anhydrous silica,
Opadry II 31F58914 white tablet coating: hypromellose 15cP, lactose monohydrate, titanium dioxide (E171), macrogol 4000, sodium citrate dihydrate.
Action
The drug increases blood flow to the penis during sexual arousal by helping the blood vessels in the penis relax.
Dosage
Always use Maxon Active exactly as described in the package leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. If in doubt, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
Adult men: the recommended dose is 50 mg if you have previously taken medicines containing sildenafil at a dose of 50 mg or more. After consultation, your doctor may recommend a different dosage method. Otherwise, Maxon Forte 50 mg should only be used if the patient did not experience the desired effect after taking sildenafil 25 mg.
The tablet should be taken about an hour before planned sexual activity, swallowing it whole and drinking a glass of water.
The time it takes for Maxon Forte to work varies from patient to patient, but is usually between half an hour and one hour.
The effect may occur later if the drug is taken after a large meal. If you feel that the effect of the drug is too strong or too weak, an erection does not occur after taking it, or if the duration of the erection is insufficient for sexual intercourse, you should consult to your doctor or pharmacist.
Maxon Forte allows you to achieve an erection only if you are sexually aroused.

Contraindications
If you are allergic to sildenafil or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
If you use:
nitrates, because taking them together may lead to a dangerous decrease in blood pressure;
medicines that release nitric oxide (such as amyl nitrite, so-called poppers), as taking them together may also lead to a dangerous decrease in blood pressure;
Riociguat. It is a medicine used to treat pulmonary hypertension (i.e. high blood pressure in the lungs) and chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (i.e. high pressure in the lungs caused by blood clots). PDE5 inhibitors such as Maxon Forte have been shown to enhance the blood pressure lowering effects of this drug. If you are taking riociguat or are not sure, tell your doctor.
Severe heart or liver disease.
Low blood pressure, recent heart attack or stroke.
Hereditary degenerative changes in the retina such as retinitis pigmentosa.
Ever known pattern loss due to nonarteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy.
If in doubt, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
Storage
Keep the medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
There are no special storage conditions for this medicine.
Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the blister and carton after EXP:. The expiry date means the last day of the given month.
Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines you no longer use. Such behavior will help to protect the environment.
Side effects
Side effects reported in connection with the use of Maxon Forte are usually short-lived, mild or moderate in severity. This medicine may cause side effects, although not everyone will experience them.
If any of the following side effects occur, stop taking Maxon Forte and seek medical help immediately:
allergic reaction – occurs uncommonly (may affect up to 1 in 100 people) Symptoms: sudden wheezing, difficulty breathing or dizziness, swelling of the eyelids, face, mouth or throat;
chest pain – occurs uncommonly If it occurs during or after sexual intercourse: take a semi-sitting position and try to relax, do not take nitrates to relieve chest pain;
excessively prolonged and sometimes painful erections – these are rare (may affect up to 1 in 1,000 people). If your erection lasts longer than 4 hours, contact your doctor immediately;
sudden deterioration or loss of vision – occurs rarely;
severe skin reactions – occur rarely;
symptoms may include severe peeling and swelling of the skin, blistering in the mouth, genitals and around the eyes, fever;
